Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's musical Once on This Island (starring Benjor as Agwe!) will be staged by De La Salle - Zobel students and alumni in February.

I've heard some of the songs before, but have never seen the play. The guys at Wikipedia summarize Once on This Island as being based on a book that re-tells The Little Mermaid, and is set in the French Antilles.

"Ti Moune, orphaned at a young age by a storm sent by Agwe, the God of Water, is rescued and adopted by Mama Euralie and Tonton Julian, peasants who work endlessly, while on the other side of the island the wealthy upper class, known as the Grands Hommes, live in a beautiful hotel. When Ti Moune expresses a desire to meet a young Grands Hommes named Daniel, the Gods intervene to help her make her dream come true."

After seeing Benjor perform in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Godspell, I'm sure he'll deliver another great performance. I'm very excited about finally seeing Once on This Island. I hope you all go check it out.
